What we translate

The documents people most often need translated

Driving licences

Punjab RTO licences and licences from across north India, translated front and back — the order page sets a licence to two pages automatically. If your licence card is already printed in English, you may not need a translation at all: see documents already partly in English. Converting here? Our state-by-state guide shows what your road authority asks for.

Birth and village records

Certificates from Municipal Corporations and Gram Panchayats, including older partly handwritten records — we render what is legible and mark what is not.

Marriage certificates

Civil marriage certificates and registrations, translated in full including stamps and seals.

Pricing

The full price on screen before you order

Translation is $39.99 per page, into English, delivered digitally. Add NAATI certification for $59.99 per page when the receiving authority asks for it: a NAATI-certified translator prepares your document, and it carries their certification statement, NAATI stamp and credential number. Where the translator uses NAATI’s digital stamp, it carries a QR code you can scan to check the credential. We explain NAATI translation online on its own page.

Photograph and upload

Photograph your document with your phone, choose your options with the running total on screen, and pay online. Nothing is printed or posted.

Delivered by email

Your finished translation arrives by email. Normal delivery is within 3 days and included in the price; Urgent and ASAP are on the order page, ASAP where a translator for your language is available. We do not deliver on Sundays: a delivery that would fall on a Sunday arrives on the Monday. The windows are estimates, so if you have a fixed deadline, tell us before you order.

Complimentary re-issue

If your translation ever needs a correction or a fresh copy, we re-issue it with our compliments. Your order number finds it, even years later.

The craft

Details a careful translation gets right

These are the points where Punjabi documents differ from English ones, and where a careless translation causes questions later. Our house standard sets out how each of them is handled.

Gurmukhi, romanised to match your passport

Punjabi names romanise more than one way. We follow the spelling in your passport, so your translated documents line up with your identity documents.

Shared names, careful identifiers

With Singh and Kaur shared so widely, the other identifiers on a document — parentage, dates, registration numbers — carry the weight. They are carried across exactly as printed.

Mixed-language documents

Punjabi documents often mix Gurmukhi with Hindi and English. Everything not already in English is translated, so the finished document reads entirely in English.
