Turkish to English
Turkish to English translation
For visitors driving on a Turkish licence, and for anyone who needs a Turkish population record, marriage booklet or court paper in English. Translated in full, delivered by email, with NAATI certification as an option.
What a Turkish document needs
Three things a Turkish document brings with it
Most Turkish records now come from e-Devlet or a population directorate, in formats built to be checked. A translation should keep them checkable.
Check the date on a 2016 card
Turkey’s card licences began on 1 January 2016, and a B class card is valid for ten years. The population directorate says B licences issued on 1 January 2016 stopped being valid on 1 January 2026. Check the expiry date on your card before you fly: a translation cannot extend it.

The barcode on an e-Devlet record
A record downloaded from e-Devlet, such as the nüfus kayıt örneği (population register extract), carries a barcode number and a QR code that anyone can check on turkiye.gov.tr. The translation carries that number too, so the reader can see the original for themselves.

Formül A, B and C
Turkey issues multilingual birth, marriage and death extracts, Formül A, B and C, from population directorates and through e-Devlet, with field labels in several languages. If yours already reads in English where it matters, see documents already in English before you order.

What to carry with a Turkish licence
What VicRoads says
“If your licence is not in English, you’ll also need to carry either: an English translation of your licence, or an international driving permit in English.” And: “You should always have your overseas licence with you when you drive.”

At the SIXT desk
“Should the valid driver’s licence be in another language or have no photo SIXT will accept a certified translation in English or an International driver’s permit.” The word that matters there is valid: an expired card is not rescued by a translation.

Every state’s rule, word for word, is on driver licence translation, and before you fly: a checklist for your licence covers the rest.
What a careful job includes
Every class, every barcode, both sides
The whole licence
Both sides of the card: name, date and place of birth, issue and expiry dates, the issuing office, the licence number, and each of the classes you hold (M, B1, B, F and the rest) with its own dates and codes, explained in words.
İ, ı, ş and ğ kept straight
Turkish has a dotted and a dotless i, and letters an English keyboard lacks. The translation copies your name exactly as your passport prints it, so the licence, the extract and the passport match.
Civil and court records
Population register extracts, the evlenme cüzdanı (marriage booklet), divorce judgments, criminal record certificates, diplomas and transcripts. Seals, barcodes and signatures are carried across; unreadable text is marked in square brackets.
Choose the NAATI certification option for a translation prepared by a NAATI-certified translator, carrying their certification statement, NAATI stamp and credential number. See the birth certificate and marriage certificate pages for those documents.
