Pashto to English
Pashto to English translation
For Afghan and Pashtun families who need a tazkira, a marriage certificate or a school record in English. Check which language your document is really in, and the free government service, first; then we translate in full, by email, with NAATI certification as an option.
What a Pashto document needs
Three things a Pashto document brings with it
Pashto shares its script, its calendar and many of its documents with Dari, and in Pakistan it rarely appears on official paper at all.
Pashto and Dari on one page
Many Afghan documents print Dari and Pashto side by side. Choose the language that carries the entries you need translated; for a page split evenly between the two, ask us first, and see Dari to English for the Dari side.
From Pakistan? Check the language
Official records from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the rest of Pakistan are usually in Urdu or English rather than Pashto. If yours is, order it as Urdu, or check whether the English already on it is enough.
Hamal, Sawr, Jawza
Afghan dates use the Solar Hijri year with month names taken from the zodiac. Each date is converted to the Western calendar as a specific day, and the original is kept in brackets so anyone can check the sum.

What the free service excludes
TIS National accepts “Only personal documents that assist with employment, education, and community engagement”, and translations “required for visa or citizenship applications, and documents issued by private citizens, are not eligible.” Within those limits, it is free for eligible arrivals.

A translation made abroad
The partner visa checklist says translators outside Australia “do not have to be accredited”, but each translation must include their “full name; address and telephone number; qualifications and experience in the language they are translating”. One made in Kabul or Peshawar may already do.
